REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Golkar Party has just made a new record of national and the world in terms of leadership regeneration. Within 3,5 years, the party already has five chairmans, Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) said yesterday.  

JK said in his speech during the closing of extraordinary meeting (Munaslub) Golkar Party at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on December 20. At the same time Airlangga Hartanto officially inaugurates as definitive general chairman of the country's second largest party for the period 2017-2019.

"I congratulate Airlangga as a new chairman of Golkar Party. I think this is a national record, and also a world record instead because within 3,5 years this party already has five chairman," JK said that immediately greeted by laughter from the participants on Munaslub event.

JK mentioned five names that have led Golkar Party in less than five years. Started from Aburizal Bakri, Agung Laksono, Setya Novanto, Idrus Marham, and currently Airlangga. He expected the new chairman of the party could bring Golkar to be the best.
