REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PONTIANAK -- West Kalimantan's anti-narcotics agency has arrested three Malaysian nationals, ZL, IS, and SF, for allegedly attempting to smuggle 10 kg of methamphetamine from the neighboring country. The three Malaysians were arrested on Wednesday (Jan 24) at around 7 p.m. local time at Surya Alam Hotel in Kubu Raya District of West Kalimantan.

Head of West Kalimantan BNN Brigadier General Pol Nasrullah said the arrest was made with the help of the West Kalimantan police, the customs office, immigration, and the Indonesian military.

"We arrested four suspects. One of them, DV, was an Indonesian who received 10 packs of methamphetamine weighing 10 kg, while another suspect, CP, managed to flee," he said here on Friday.

The police has put CP on its wanted list. "We could not confirm his nationality, but he is believed to be a Malaysian and was a major drug dealer," he disclosed.

Brigadier General Nasrullah noted that ZL, IS, SF and CP headed for Pontianak from Malaysia by car on Wednesday at 11.30 a.m.

They hid the drugs in boxes along with baby shampoo products in the car's trunk. "They passed officers at the Entikong border post, but they were arrested in the Ambawang region," he stated.

"The suspects are still very young, but what they have done is very dangerous. We hope that they get the appropriate punishment or even the death sentence if necessary," he stressed.
