REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ISLAMABAD -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the stability of politic and security is really important to improve economic growth in a country. He assessed economic activity would not grow if conflict and war happen.

"Conflicts and war will not become the benefit, especially civil society and also women and children who always very harmful," said Jokowi in his spech on National Assembly of Pakistan event on Friday (Jan 26).

According to Jokowi, conflict and war also destroy the noble values of humanity. Therefore, he asserted Indonesia's commitment to participate in maintaining world peace.

"It has become Indonesia's commitment to participate in maintaining world peace as a nett contributor to peace," Jokowi added.

Furthermore, Jokowi said Indonesia has worked hard to promote peace ecosystem, stability, and welfare in Southeast Asia. The country also wanted to cretae in bigger region, such as Indo-Pacific.

Thus, he expected the move could create Indo-Pacific as growth area for the world. Jokowi also said Indonesia is one of the largest contributors to the World Peace Forces.

In the past two years, Indonesia has been working together and contribute to assist humanity in conflict areas, maintain regional security, addressing the threat of transnational crimes, including drugs trafficking, human trafficking, and terrorism.

He said radicalism and terrorism occurred in many countries in the world. As the result, Muslims become the most victims, as 76 percent of terrorist attack happened in Muslim countries and 60 percent of armed conflicts also happened in those countries.

War makes million of young people lose their hope for the future. Jokowi assessed he would not let the condition happen again.

"I will say i won't let the situation like war happen again and again," he added.
