REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO -- North Sulawesi Province has exported 25 tons of coconut flour to the Netherlands in early 2018. Muksin noted that the export activities of coconut flour to the Netherlands were able to generate foreign exchange of US$52,500 for Indonesia.
"Dutch people are quite interested in consuming coconut flour," Head of Foreign Trade of the North Sulawesi's Industry and Trade Office Darwin Muksin stated in Manado on Wednesday.
Buyers from Europe, America, Asia, and Africa are highly concerned about the quality, quantity, and continuity of delivery of goods. Thus, he remarked that the local government continues to remind the exporters of North Sulawesi to maintain the market access that has been created.
He expected the market to expand more to other neighboring countries in Europe, Asia, America, and Africa. "The international market chooses North Sulawesi's coconut flour due to its quality, which has been tested, and is expected to be maintained or improved," he added.
In addition to coconut flour, the government expects the export of more varieties of coconut-derived products. More diversification of products can provide greater added value.
Muksin revealed that there are 31 potential export destination countries for coconut flour commodity, namely Germany, Russia, China, England, Netherlands, New Zealand, Italy, Egypt, Slovenia, Brazil, Australia, Belgium, Uruguay, United States, Korea, Austria, South Africa, Hong Kong, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Lithuania, Argentina, Angola, Hungary, Norway, Kasakztan, Poland, Georgia, Portugal, Latvia, and Greece.
He called on farmers and exporters of North Sulawesi to utilize the high demand of various countries for coconut flour optimally.
