REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) disappointed by Setya Novanto's move who put his son's name in e-ID card procurement bribe list. SBY said it was a slander. He use the proverb "to cherish a viper in one's bosom" to expressed his feeling toward the accusation.
"When he was being bullied for many reasons, started from the ICU treatment, car accident and got a wound in his forehead, I told my friends and relatives not to bully him. It's not nice. But, it seems "he is a viper in my bosom"," SBY said on Tuesday (Feb 6).
Edhi Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas)'s name is listed in a black notebook owned by Novanto, the defendant from "political cluster" in the high profile e-ID card porcurement graft case. It was seen by the reporters during e-ID card graft case trial.
On the top of the page, Novanto wrote the title "Justice Collabolator". He put Democratic party politician, Nazaruddin's name on the first line. Then, he drew two arrows pointing to Ibas' name and a number of USD 500 thousand.
SBY allowed Ibas to take legal step against Novanto's writings. He also had file a police report on Tuesday afternoon to complain Novanto's lawyer, Firman Wijaya over an alleged defamation.
Based on testimony of former Democratic party's politician Mirwan Amir, Firman said SBY as the 2009 General Election winner was the prominent figure behind the case. Outside the courtroom, Firman also said SBY has intervened e-ID card procurement project.
SBY challenged Mirwan to prove his statement. He believed the accusation was a part of scenario in political year.
