REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUALA LUMPUR -- An Indonesian housemaid, Adelina (21) died in Malaysian hospital, Bukit Mertajam, Penang, on Sunday (Feb 11). She was reported died at 4.45 pm local time and the cause of death has not been determined.

Adelina , who came from Medan worked at a house in Taman Kota Permai. The neighbors concerned when seeing injuries on her hands and foot.

According to the information, a neighbor saw Adelina has been sleeping next to the rottweiler dog owned by her employer for the last two months. She refused to speak to whoever greeted her.

The neighbor contacted a journalist who later informed the representative office of Bukit Mertajam board member. City counsilor, Joshua Woo and his colleagues then visited Adelina and found she was sitting on the porch.

A 60-year-old woman who was Adelinas employer then asked Joshua and colleagues to get out from her house. She refused the allegation of mistreated the maid, but confessed had slapped her for once or twice.

The employer claimed Adelina's hand and foot was wounded by a spilled strong chemicals liquid. Joshua conveyed the case to Tenaganita migran support group and then reported Adelina's employer to the police. The case will be investigated as a murder.

Malaysian Police said Adelina feel really scared, When authorities tried to talk to her, she refused to give any statement. She then was taken to Bukit Mertajam hospital for treatment.

Chairman Permai (Society of Indonesia Indonesia) Dato Trisya Devi Arfandi North also grieved with Adelinas death. He expected the case to be solved also with Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Penang.

There are more than 300,000 Indonesian women work as maids in Malaysia. Officials say many files complaint that come every year alleging mistreats.
