REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan plans to meet Drug Eradication Agency Head Commissioner General Budi Waseso to seek directives on the 39 discotheques in Jakarta indicated to be involved in the circulation of illegal drugs.
"I have planned to meet him soon," he stated in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Anies noted that he could not meet the agency head today, as a coordination meeting is being held with all governors of Indonesia in Bandung, West Java.
Furthermore, Anies remarked that he will not show any leniency towards businesses in a bid to stop the rampant flow of drugs into the capital region.
"The point is if there is a violation, do not expect us to not take action," he pointed out.
Anies had earlier stated that 36 entertainment venues, spread across five areas of the capital city, had been proven to conduct illegal drug trafficking practices.
