REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked pharmaceutical industrialists to be more innovative to reduce Indonesia's dependence on import for pharmaceutical products. He conveyed the message when officially commissioning a pharmaceutical factory at the Industrial Estate of Delta Silicon, Cikarang, West Java on Tuesday.

"This is what I have often said - social justice for all people that all people are entitled to health care service,"Jokowi said.
The Kalbio factory is said to be the country's first technology intensive factory using robotic technology to prevent contamination and improve productivity and sterilization quality.
The president expressed pleasure with the presence of the new factory, saying , "I highly appreciates the initiative of the Kalbe Farma Group to build a factory to produce basic materials of biotechnology based pharmaceuticals and I want to ask other pharmaceutical industrialists not to hesitate to invest in this sector."
The factory is expected to be able to meet domestic and export requirement.
