REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- President Joko Widodo received the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) delegation at the Bogor Presidential Palace on Monday. The president, accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, received the AIIB delegation at the Bogor Palace in the Garuda room at 9 a.m. local time.
The AIIB delegation comprised Alternate Director Nurym Ayazbayev from Kazakhstan, Director Mehmet Alper Batur from Turkey, Alternate Director Philto Baudry from France, Alternate Director Alberto Cogliate from Italy, Alternate Director Zahidul Haque from Bangladesh, Director MM Kutty from India, Director Christopher Legg from Australia, Director Emil Levendoglu from the United Kingdom, Alternate Director Angkhansada Mouangkham from Laos, Alternate Director Ofer Peleg from Israel, Alternate Director Radek Pyffel from Poland, and Director Rionald Silaban from Indonesia.
The head of state was glad to receive the AIIB delegation that was keen to witness the progress in projects in Solo, including the MRT project.
Indonesia has been a member of the AIIB since 2016 during which the bank has funded 12 large infrastructure projects of member countries.
Earlier, Finance Minister Mulyani had noted that three out of the 12 projects were infrastructure projects in Indonesia: urban and multi sectors.
Two projects are in the urban sector, such as National Slum Settlement Increase in Indonesia, with an AIIB funding worth US$216.5 million, or Rp2.8 trillion, and World Bank, $216.5 million.
Meanwhile, the multi sector includes the Regional Infrastructure Development Fund Project and Operational Safety Damage Phase II.
