REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Finance Minister Sri Mulyani has denied rumors of an increase in the president's salary. She assured the information as false news.

"It (the news) is false, and the issue has not been discussed with the government," Mulyani noted here on Monday.

The minister affirmed that the news was fake, as earlier highlighted by Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Asman Abnur.

Mulyani believes that the perpetrator had created a fake government document and circulated it through social media.

"It was a hoax. Many applications can create fake information or documents that are similar to the government's document. The government did not discuss about the increased salary, absolutely no," Mulyani explained.

Meanwhile, speaking in connection with the salary of civil servants, Mulyani noted that the government's draft regulations in 2018 and the Revised State Budget 2019 will be delivered similar to the government's report submitted to the House of Representatives.

"In the financial note, the 13th salary and retired fund will be included by the president in the financial note report in August 2018," Mulyani remarked.

The news of the president's salary hike, from Rp30 million to Rp553 million per month, had taken the public by surprise.

The government's draft regulations also included the increased salary for the vice president, from Rp20 million to Rp368.9 million per month.

The fake draft also noted the new salary proposals for ministers, attorney general, Indonesia defense commander, chief of police, chairman of Indonesia's House of Representatives, chairman of the Regional House of Representatives, chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, chairman of the Financial Monitoring Agency, chairman of the Supreme Court, and chief justice to be Rp92.2 million per month.
