REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Probosutedjo, the younger brother of the late second president of Indonesia Soeharto, reportedly died at the age of 87 this Monday morning. He died at the Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital (RSCM), Jakarta.
"He died at 7:55 am West Indonesia Standard Time this morning," Chairman of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) Hariyadi Sukamdani said.
Meanwhile, secretary general of Berkarya Party, Badarudin Andi Picunang said the late Probosutedjo was temporarily kept at the funeral home on Diponegoro Street No. 20, Central Jakarta, until 12:00 pm. Probosutedjo has been brought to Yogyakarta at 15:30 pm.
"He will be buried at family cemetary at Somenggalan cemetary, Kemusuk Argomulyo, Sedayu, Bantul, Yogyakarta," education expert Arief Rachman added when accompanying the late Probosutedjo at Halim Perdanakusuma airport, East Jakarta.
Probosutejo who was known to have a thyroid cancer will be laid beside his father's grave, Atmopawiro.

Vice President Jusuf Kalla assessed Probosutedjo inherited many good examples. He remembered Probosutedjo as a tenacious businessman who was very concerned with social condition. "He was a tenacious, has a social spirit, strong, and diligent," Kalla said on Monday.
Probosutedjo has also tried to bring together local entrepreneurs. He was the founder of the Association of Indigenous Indonesian Entrepreneurs (Hippi). "His determination to bring together national businessmen is worth exemplifying," Kalla said.
Probosutedjo was a director of PT Menara Hutan Buana and the owner of Menara Bhakti Foundation and Mercu Buana Yogyakarta University.
Probosutedjo was sentenced to four years imprisonment by the Central Jakarta District Court in a reforestration fund of industrial timber plantations in South Kalimantan corruption case with a value of Rp100.9 billion. He was released in March 2008, after undergoing two-third of his jail term at the Sukamiskin prison, Bandung, West Java.
