REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BADUNG -- I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Customs official has detained two residents of Riau with initials S (24) and AP (25), and a Malaysian national AA (23) for smuggling drugs inside their genitals and rectums.
"The man and woman are residents of Riau Province, while the other suspect is a Malaysian national. These people arrived at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali on March 11 at 12.30 pm local time," the Customs Office head Himawan Indarjono said in Badung, Monday.
These suspects were the passengers of Thai Air Asia FD 396 en route from Bangkok, Thailand to Bali, Indarjono added.
The chief explained, when being checked on the X-ray gate, these smugglers exhibited suspicious gestures. When the customs officers checked their bodies, packs of drugs were seen being stashed inside the organs.
These three suspects were later escorted to the special room for an intensive check.
On the Malaysian national AA's body, the officers found over 80 grams of crystal methamphetamine stashed inside his rectum. Inside his anus, the officers revealed the first pack with Code A label contains 36.25 grams of crystal methamphetamine, while the second pack Code B 33.73 grams, and the third pack Code C 20.73 grams.
In AA's backpack, the officers also found a pack of 36.20 grams crystal methamphetamine covered with black plastic and stored inside a pencil case.
The second suspect S also carried over 100 grams of the crystal methamphetamine on his anus. On his body, the officers found the first pack with Code A label contains 42.32 grams crystal methamphetamine, while the second pack Code B 44.81 grams, the third pack Code C 9.66 grams, and the fourth Code D 38.78 grams.
Meanwhile, the S's lover, AP also stashed three packs of crystal methamphetamine inside her anus, and one pack in her genital. On her body, the officers revealed 36.73 grams in the first pack (Code A), 34.73 in the second pack (Code B), 34.69 grams in the third pack (Code C), and 34.26 in her genital.
The three smugglers had violated the Article 102 Alphabet e of the Law No.17 Year 2006 on Customs, and the Article 113 No. (2) of the Law No.35 Year 2009 on Narcotics.
