REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Grand Ancol Hotel, which operated Alexis Hotel entertainment center in North Jakarta officially closed down all of its business units operations to end the long polemic. The company also wanted to end the recent accusations that it was involved in prostitution and human trafficking.
"All of our business units operation has been closed down to avoid prolonged polemic and to help maintain condition in the society," said PT Grand Ancol Hotel spokeperson Lina Novita in a written statement on Thursday (March 29).

Earlier, Jakarta City administration has revoked all of PT Grand Hotel Ancols business license on March 22 on accusations of prostitution and human trafficking. The company operated Alexis Hotel along with several of its other business units, like 4Play Club and Bar Lounge, restaurant, spa, karaoke, and music lounge.
Jakarta provincial government said they have evidences of brothel operation in Alexis based on result of investigations and also media reports. However, PT Grand Ancol denied the accusations. According to Lina, the accusations have generated unfair news and a negative stigma towards the company businesses.
She added that hundreds of workers have lost their jobs due to the closure. Lina also mentioned that it was no longer safe for Alexis to run an entertainment business in the city.
Lina explained the problem of Alexis Hotel business was started in the news in October 2017. At that time, Alexis operation permit renewal was refused by Jakarta Provincial government, following the news regarding banned activities at the the hotel. The hotel was widely rumored to have hosted high-class prostitution services.
