REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Executive Board of the Nahdlatul Ulama Special Branch (PCINU) in China said no student in the country that got communism lesson. The comment appears related to previous news titled “In China, Indonesian students get communism ideology lesson”.
"Based on our experience, universities in China never teach communist ideology as reported," said Tanfidziyah PCINU China, Nurwidiyanto said on Sunday (1/4).
PCINU China considered the news has disturbed many Indonesian students in China. According to Nurwidiyanto, the news was not based on facts and insinuative, also provocative.
Earlier, Muhammdiyah Surakarta University (UMS) rector, Sofyan Anif said Indonesian students in China have been taught communist ideology. He knew it after China Education Minister invited him and other nine rectors to the forum.
Sofyan said in the forum, one of the rectors in China admitted that currently the country incessantly intensifying the teaching of communist ideology to all students in China. He concluded Indonesian students also got communism lesson.
"It means our students there must also geta the lesson related to communist ideology," said Sofyan.
Meanwhile, Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Menristekdikti) Mohammad Nasir also commented related to the news. He said it was not a problem if Indonesian students in China got communist ideology lesson.
For Nasir, communism, liberalism, or socialism, are part of the science to be learned. However, Nasir insisted that Indonesian students who studying abroad must always uphold Pancasila as their ideology.
"If our students want to learn it, please do it, but their ideology must remain Pancasila," Nasir said.
