REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SUKABUMI -- The Indonesian government has set itself the target of completing the construction of Bogor-Sukabumi double tracks in West Java in 2020. Meanwhile, the government has targeted to complete the first phase of the project linking Cigombong to Cicurug in December this year.
"And (the second phase of the project linking) Cicurug to Sukabumi in 2020," Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said while inspecting the construction of the double tracks in Cicurug, Sukabumi, on Wednesday.
He said the construction of the double tracks will cost an estimated Rp1 trillion which will be taken from the state budget.

The construction of the first phase of the project which has reached 10 percent has cost Rp175 billion, he said.
In general, the realization of the project faced no obstacle but only hills which are 11 to 12 meters high are found in a few points of the project, he said.
In addition, homes built on land owned by state railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) have been demolished to make way for the construction of the double tracks by providing compensation to them, he said.
"We believe the project can be completed on schedule as we have no significant problem," he said.
