REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) noted that Indonesia is a large country, whose economy will grow stronger and increase in 2030. He said that in a speech to students of the Taruna Nusantara Senior High School that had paid a visit to the State Palace.
"My dear children, I want you to know that Indonesia is a large country, whose total population reaches 263 million. It is also listed among the top 16 economies of the world," Jokowi stated here on Monday.
The president was glad to meet the best students and admitted to having once visited the Taruna Nusantara High School that had the best facilities.
The president remarked that Indonesia, as a large country, has 17 thousand islands and 714 different tribes.

"It means our country is plural and has more than 1,100 local languages, and I am proud that the students of Taruna Nusantara, coming from Sabang-Merauke and Miangas Island to Rote Island are part of the Taruna Nusantara High School," he stated.
Hence, the head of state noted that Indonesia will be a strong economic country in future.
"According to calculations of the National Development Planning Ministry (Bappenas), McKenzie, and the World Bank, Indonesia will be among the top 10 countries, with the strongest economies in 2030. Also, when you hold good careers, Indonesia will be among the top five of the world's strongest economies. Moreover, it can be ranked fourth if we work hard in 2045," he stated.
Jokowi emphasized that Indonesia has to be diligent in empowering its human resources to compete with other countries, such as the United States, India, and China.
"Say no to be lazy, instant, or spoiled. We need the formula to accomplish something," he remarked.
According to the president, the economy of a country will be strong if it can overcome every obstacle and make major efforts.
On the occasion, President Jokowi was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Chief of Presidency Staff Moeldoko.
