REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The survey result from Indonesian Political Indicator showed if presidential election was held today, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would easily beat his rival, Prabowo Subianto. Jokowi's electability rate reached 60,6 percent compared to Prabowo (29 percent), based on study that held from March 25 to 31.
Indonesian Political Indicator executive director Burhanuddin Muhtadi said head to head competition between Jokowi and Prabowo is the strongest of all candidates. However, the gap was really deep as it reached 31 percent.
Nevertheless, there's one year ahead to catch up the vote for Prabowo, said Burhanuddin on Friday (May 4).
Indonesian Political Indicator also showed Jokowi would remain superior if there was three presidential candidates. The simulation was made if Jokowi competes Prabowo and former Indonesian Military (TNI) commander Gatot Nurmayanto.
With the simulation, Jokowi will win with electability rate 59.3 percent. Prabowo to be in second position with 27.3 percent and Gatot 3.6 percent.
Another simulation by Indonesian Political Indicator was Jokowi competes with Prabowo and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. Based on the result, Jokowi will still be at top position with 58,9 percent vote, while Prabowo 26.6 percent and Anies 4.5 percent.
