REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The former Chief of the House of Representatives, Setya Novanto, was transferred to the Sukamiskin Detention Facilities in Bandung, West Java, on Friday. He bid a farewell message to the reporters before heading to Sukamiskin.
"I would firstly like to thank all the media crew and I would like to bid you farewell. I will be headed to the facility from the dormitory I was staying in," he said in the State Detention Facility Class I in East Jakarta. After saying his goodbyes, he immediately boarded the prisoner car that will take him to Sukamiskin.

"I am sure that I will learn a lot in the Sukamiskin Facility, and I will have the opportunity to say a lot of prayers, especially for those who bear me ill will," he said.
He reiterated that he believed that he had been unjustly treated in the e-ID card procurement corruption case known as the KTP-El case.
"I hope the truth will come out. Let me be the only one who has been treated unjustly, and let those who have treated me in such manner be forgiven, as I am sure there will be a fair treatment back from the Almighty, in this life and in the afterlife. I would like to once again apologize and I bid you farewell," he said.

Earlier, neither the Anti-Graft Body nor Novanto submitted an appeal against the verdict of the Panel of Judges of the Corruption Crime Court convicting him in the KTP-e case.
Novanto has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment with an added fine of Rp500 million or three more months in jail. Novanto will also have to pay back US$ 7.3 million, minus the Rp5 billion that he has returned.
