REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- Indonesia Police chief General Tito Karnavian said the team has been able to identify the perpetrators of bomb attack in Surabaya, East Java, on Sunday. It was believed that bombers of three churches on Sunday were of one family.
"The perpetrator of the bomb attack at Pentecostal church on Jalan Arjuno using an Avanza car was believed to be the father known as Dita Prianto," he said.
He explained before committing the attack Prianto dropped off his wife, Puji Kuswato, and his two daughters - Fadila Sari (12) and Pamela Riskita (9) - while the two suicide bombers at Santa Maria catholic church were two men believed to be Prianto's sons named Yusuf Fadil (18) and Firman Halim (16).
"All of them have committed suicide bombing but the bombs used are of different types," he said.
Dita put the bomb in his car before he ran the car into the church while his wife and his two daughters were believed to have put the bombs on their waists before exploding them at the GKI Christian church on Jalan Diponegoro as seen by the wounds on the stomach that they suffered.
"We do not know for sure what kind of bomb that exploded at the church on Jalan Ngagel was. The bomb that exploded with a strong impact was carried by bike," he said.
The forensic laboratory is still investigating on what kind of explosive materials were used in the bombs.
"The group could not be separated from Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) and Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid (JAT) that have so far become the main supporters of ISIS in Indonesia under the leadershio of Aman Abdurahman," he said.
With regard to their motive Tito said that ISIS has so far been under pressure and has been cornered and because of the situation ISIS has ordered its networks to carry out attacks across the world including in Indonesia.
