Terror attacks in Surabaya might affect 2018 Asian Games: JK

Asian Games to be held simultaneously in Jakarta and Palembang on Aug 18 - Sept 2.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) said terror attacks in Surabaya, East Java might affect 2018 Asian Games. He assessed foreigners will generalize security in Indonesia.

He put Pakistan in South Asia as example. When terror hit, foreigners will be afraid to visit the country.

"In Indonesia, 2018 Asian Games will be held in Jakarta-Palembang, and terror attacks located in Surabaya, but sometimes many foreigners can't differ it," said JK on Tuesday (May 15).

JK asked authorities and people to work together to overcome terror ahead of 2018 Asian Games. The sport event will take place on August 18 to September 2.
