REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Taman Impian Jaya Ancol or Ancol Dreamland will organize the "Ancol Asian Festival" from June to August 2018 to coincide with the 18th Asian Games. Ancol Dreamland (TIJA) would also sell official souvenirs of the Asian Games, said TIJA's deputy President Director, Teuku Sahir Syahali, here on Thursday evening.

"There will be kiosks for the sale of souvenirs because of our deal with INASGOC (the Asian Games organising committee). During June, July, August, the official souvenirs will be sold," he disclosed.

The Games will be held from August 18 to September 2, 2018, in Jakarta and the South Sumatra provincial capital city of Palembang.

The souvenirs will be available at a number of outlets in TIJA's Fantasy World, Seaworld, and the Ocean Dream Samudra. TIJA would ask visitors to use its vehicles if they wanted to visit Asian Games venues in the Ancol arena where the jetski and sailboat competitions would be held.

"We want to build Asian Games fever from now on, especially in the Ancol beach area, which is a venue for the jetski and sailboat races. We also want to showcase the cultural richness of the archipelago to attract the public and the participating countries' delegations," said Teuku.

Ancol Dreamland also planned to hold the Ancol Nusantara Festival, Ancol Kampung Betawi Festival, Asian Lantern Festival, Ancol Triathlon and Ancol Kemerdekaan Festival.

Teuku said June to August 2018 were packed with cultural and culinary events, boat parades and a triathlon to, in addition to welcoming the 2018 Asian Games, enliven the Eid Al-Fitr (Lebaran) holidays and the 419th Jakarta Anniversary.
