REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUNINGAN -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) handed over 7,000 land certificates to residents in Kuningan Regency, West Java on Friday (May 25). He expected no land dispute occured in many regions in Indonesia.
"During my working visit to many regions and villages, the problem is always about land disputes," said Jokowi on Friday (May 25).
Jokowi said there are 126 million plots of land in Indonesia that must be certified. However, until 2014, there were only 46 million lands can be certified. Therefore, the government wanted to speed up the distribution of land certificates.
"We still have to certify 80 million plots of land. A total of 500 thousand land certificates are usually certified every year. We cannot wait for 160 years to issue all land certificates," he emphasized.

President has ordered Minister of Agrarian Land Spatial Planning / National Land Agency head Sofyan Djalil to complete 7,000 certificates this year. He said there are nine million certificates that must be handed over to society next year.
Meanwhile, Sofyan Djalil in his report speech revealed 2,500 certificate recipients came from Majalengka Regency as many as 500 people, 750 people from Kuningan Regency, Indramayu Regency 500 people, Cirebon Regency 500 people, and Cirebon City 500 people.
This year, 1,3 million fields in West Java will have certificates, said Sofyan.
