REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Salaries and allowances of officials of the Pancasila Ideology Development Board (BPIP) have been computed by the Ministry of Finance and are in line with the prevailing procedures and mechanisms, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated. The analysis is based on the existing mechanisms," he noted after closing a Ramadhan preaching assembly event in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The president remarked that the amount and value of salaries were calculated by the finance ministry. "I think a more detailed explanation lies with the Ministry of Finance," Jokowi noted.
Jokowi stated that the BPIP officials, including Megawati Soekarnoputri, as chairman of the Steering Board, receive a monthly salary, which is quite large, as the payment is not merely a component of the salary but also includes allowances and insurance.

The president explained that the amount had also been calculated based on the applicable regulations.
"The payment is not only a salary, but it also includes allowances and insurance. The Ministry of Finance has conducted the calculations. Regarding job analysis and other queries, please raise them with the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan)," he clarified.
President Jokowi stated that the people can inquire about the amount with the Ministry of Finance. "Please clarify matters with the Ministry of Finance regarding the basis for calculation and from where the figures were obtained," he noted.
According to the president, the existing ministries have conducted the necessary calculations and analysis.
"Counting and analysis have been carried out by the existing ministries. The calculations are not made by us. Calculations and assessment are done by the related ministries. Position assessment is carried out by Kemenpan. Calculations and the amount are decided by the Ministry of Finance. People can inquire about it from there," he explained.
Jokowi had earlier signed Presidential Regulation No. 42 of 2018 on the Financial Right and Other Facilities for Leaders, Officials, and Employees of BPIP on May 23, 2018. As quoted from Presidential Regulation No. 42 of 2018 downloaded from the website www.setneg.go.id on Monday (May 28), Soekarnoputri, as chairman of the Steering Board of BPIP, receives a monthly salary of Rp112,548,000.
