The Manager of Bogor PLN, Widodo, said that during Ramadhan there was an increase in electricity consumption at 07:00 p.m. local time when breaking the fast. It also happened at 04:00 a.m. local time during the pre-dawn meal.
Households and places of worship had begun to apply for additional power. "Public customers can get the discount when applying for additional power ranging from 220 Volt Ampere to 197 kilo Volt Ampere," he said on Saturday.
"The programme will end on June 30," he added.
The number of PLN subscribers in the Bogor area was 1,150,000 in cities and districts. The average usage of electricity was 700 megawatts a day, and it rose to 850 megawatts during the peak load at 04:00 a.m. local time, said Widodo.
"The increase in load has been anticipated and carried out progressively. Supply is available because our power networks are integrated with Java, Bali and Madura," he said.
