REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Several countries have sent greetings to Indonesia, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr on Friday. Countries including Britain and the United States have used Twitter to convey their Eid greetings to Indonesia, which has the world's largest Moslem population, Antara learned.
"Congratulation on Eid al-Fitr to all Indonesia people. We hope God will accept our service with full blessings," British ambassador Moazzam Malik tweeted.

He also showed a picture of Eid prayer and of himself wearing a Muslim costume and cap from the Uighur, one of Chinese tribes, that he bought some 30 years ago in Kashgar, Xinjiang.
"Eid Mubarak to all friends across the world from Istiqlal Mosque Jakarta," he said in his tweet.
US ambassador Joseph R Donovan also sent Eid greetings on @usembassyjkt.

"The US ambassador to Indonesia, Joseph R Donovan Jr, and all staff and family of the US embassy greeted Blessed Eid al Fitr. My greetings to all people of Indonesia," the tweet said.
The tweet was followed by a 14-second video showing ambassador Donovan and children conveying Eid greetings.
