REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Government of the United Kingdom (UK) has issued a policy to facilitate the process of visa application for Indonesian students by reducing some documents that must be granted to prospective students who fall into the Tier 4 visa category. The policy will take effect on July 6, 2018.
British Ambassador to Indonesia, Moazzam Malik, said that with the change, Indonesian students who want to study in the UK are no longer required to provide documents of financial evidence, educational qualifications or diplomas, and English proficiency to process their student visa application.
"The simplification of the UK visa application process for Indonesian students is very good news, especially for thousands of young Indonesians who want to start their school year next spring, as well as for anyone who intends to study in the UK in the future" Ambassador Malik remarked in a written statement received by Antara here on Wednesday.
The new policy, according to the ambassador, will also allow Indonesian students abroad to continue processing their visas and enjoy the convenience.
According to Malik, Great Britain has simplified the process for Indonesian students who want to get quality education in the country.
"I am proud of the quality of education in the UK. Our education sector continues to attract the smartest and best students from Indonesia, and I am also grateful for the contributions they have made in the UK," he explained.
As of March 2018, it was recorded that the British government has issued 2.5 thousand student visas in the Tier 4 category for Indonesian students.
