REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG -- A flight to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali, from Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang, Central Java, was on Friday morning cancelled. Mount Agung eruption has disrupt the flight.
"Wing Air flight IW 1802 was scheduled to depart from Semarang to Denpasar at 6 am local time but it was cancelled for fear of being hampered by volcanic ashes from the eruption," Angkasa Pura-I Communication and Legal Section Head for Ahmad Yani Airport, Dian Permata Sari, remarked here on Friday.

She explained that the cancellation of Wing Air flight with 69 passengers to Denpasar was for safety and security reason, and therefore, she encouraged the passengers to reschedule or to ask for a refund.
According to her, the Ngurah Rai Airport had been closed since early Friday morning because the airport was covered by volcanic ashes from Mt Agung which erupted earlier on Wedenesday.
