REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale shook Central Lombok district in West Nusa Tenggara province on Friday. The epicenter of the quake which struck at 01.36 p.m local time was in the sea some 32 kilometers southwest of Central Lombok at a depth of 79 kilometers, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
The quake was felt by people in Central Lombok at I on the BMKG's quake intensity scale (SIG) or I-II on the Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI), Chief of the Mataram Geophysics Station Agus Riyanto said. He said the quake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami.
