REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received 32 mayors out of a total of 98 mayors at the Bogor Palace here, Monday. The meeting was arranged to offer opportunities to discuss problems faced by cities across the country, the head of state noted.
Jokowi called on the mayors to take precautionary measures in the face of the industry revolution 4.0. The government is currently focusing on the development of infrastructure and human resources as part of the preparations to face the industry revolution 4.0.
Cities are more prepared than villages in facing the challenges.
Among mayors received by President Jokowi were Surakarta Mayor F.X. Hadi Rudyatmo, Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti, Metro Mayor Achmad Pairin, Bogor Mayor Bima Arya, South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany, Manado Mayor G.S. Vicky Lumentut, Magelang Mayor Sigit Widyonindito, Jambi Mayor Sy Fasha, and Tebingtinggi Mayor Umar Zunaidi Hasibuan.
The others included Tarakan Mayor Sofian Raga, Probolinggo Mayor Rukmini, Balikpapan Mayor Rizal Effendi, Batu Mayor Dewanti Rumpoko, Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi, Pekalongan Mayor Saelany Mahfudz, Singkawang Mayor Tjhai Chui Mie, Payakumbuh Mayor Riza Falepi, Salatiga Mayor Yuliyanto, Bontang Mayor Neni Moerniaeni, Padang Mayor Mahyeldi Ansharullah, Banjar Mayor Ade Uu Sukaesih, Binjai Mayor H.M. Idaham, Bandar Lampung Mayor Herman HN, Bukittinggi Mayor Ramlan Nurmatias, Samarinda Mayor Syaharie Jaang, and Medan Mayor Dzulmi Eldin.
