REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- People's Consultative Assembly speaker and National Mandate Party (PAN) chairman Zulkifli Hasan commented on his brother arrest in sting operation by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He expressed his concern and sadness over the alleged graft case involved his brother, South Lampung regent Zainudin Hasan.
“This case becomes a test for our family,” said Zulkifli through press release on Friday (July 27).
Zulkifli said he has asked Zainudin to be cooperative in the investigation process. He also apologized to all people, especially South Lampung society for what happened. More over, Zulkifli also reminded PAN cadres to stay away from corrupt behaviour wherever they are.

Earlier, KPK conducted red-handed operation in South Lampung regency on Thursday (July 26) night to Friday (July 27) morning. A total of 12 people were arrested, including Zainudin, Zulkifli’s little brother.
In the sting operation, KPK team secured region head (regent), Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) member, and businessmen. The anti-graft institution suspected there were illegal transactions related to infrastructure projects.
KPK also seized Rp 700 million in denominations of Rp 100 thousand and Rp 50 thousand.
