REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ahead of presidential and vice presidential candidate registration, political parties intensified their meeting. Chief of the Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, is scheduled to meet President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Sohibul Iman, on Monday (July 30).
The two parties leaders to discuss the possibility of coalition in the 2019 general elections. "They will meet on Monday," Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Hinca Pandjaitan, said at the General Elections Commission (KPU) building in Jakarta on Friday night.
But he declined to elaborate on the agenda of the meeting. He stated that PKS will host the meeting between the two party leaders.
In a separate location, Sohibul explained the plan to have discussion with SBY was initiated during his meeting with Deputy Chairman of Democratic Party Syarief Hasan. To Syarief, he offered three days as options of the date of the meeting.
"SBY prefers Monday at 19:00 pm," Sohibul said.
However, the meeting will not be held at PKS headquarters. SBY has requested the meeting to be held in neutral place.
Earlier, Yudhoyono also held meetings with Chief of the Greater Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party, Prabowo Subianto, and Chief of the National Mandate Party (PAN), Zulkifli Hasan, at Yudhoyono's residence in Kuningan in Jakarta.
The meeting between Yudhoyono and Prabowo was held on Tuesday (July 24), while the meeting between Yudhoyono and Zulkifli was held on Thursday (July 25).
"This time, PKS will host the meeting. We will announce the venue of the meeting later on," he remarked.
