Jokowi, Prabowo, Sandiaga request non-bankruptcy certificate

Non-bankruptcy certificate is one of requirements that must be submitted in election.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA --  Central Jakarta District Court informed that three national figures have apply for the certificate of non-bankruptcy as one of the terms to be presidential and vice presidential candidate on Thursday (Aug 9) morning. They were President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Gerindra Party chief patron Prabowo Subianto, and Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno, Central Jakarta District Court official said.

Central Jakarta District Court spokesman Jamaludin Samosir explained those three names had sent the request. However, he did not know when did the application submitted.

“The request came from Mr Jokowi, Mr Prabowo, and Mr Sandiaga. The certificate is the mandatory registration requirement from General Election Commission (KPU),” said Jamaludin on Thursday (9/8).

He explained up until 11.30 a.m., Mahfud MD who was said to be Jokowi's running mate has not applied for the certificate.

The certificate of non-bankruptcy is one of the requirements that must be submitted in election by presidential, vice presidential, and even legislative candidate. According to Jamaludin, to make the certificate, the candidates can be represented.

Earlier, Sandiaga was rumored to be Prabowo’s running mate in 2019 presidential election. Gerindra Party deputy secretary general Andre Rosiade said the opposition camp was still focused on two names, namely Sandiaga and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).
