REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- JAKARTA -- Incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has arrived at Plataran Menteng restaurant, Central Jakarta, to meet with nine leaders of supporting political parties on Thursday afternoon. However, he was reluctant to comment on the meeting.
"Not yet, not yet," he said while smiling to the reporters.
Jokowi arrived at around 17.07 West Indonesia Standard Time, a couple of minutes later than Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri. Earlier, Nasdem Party Chairman Surya Paloh came to restaurant along with Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto and PPP Chairman Romahurmuziy.
PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar arrived not long after that. Meanwhile, Perindo Chairman Hari Tanoesudibjo, PSI Chairwoman Grace Natalie, Hanura Party Chairman Oesman Sapta Odang, and PKPI Chairman Diaz Hendropriyono have already arrived ahead of other political parties leaders.
The meeting was still on process at the moment. However, Mahfud MD who was said to be Jokowi's running mate has not arrived at the venue.
According to Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, today's meeting was held to complete the decision on vice presidential candidate. All parties leaders from government coalition to sign agreement on Jokowi's running mate.
