REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia's National Narcotic Agency (BNN) seized 10 kg of crystal methamphetamine smuggled from Malaysia, in Kubu Raya District, West Kalimantan Province, on Sunday. Three drug traffickers identified by their names as Budi, Yusup and Gunawan, were arrested, Insp. Gen. Arman Depari, deputy chairman of BNN said here, Monday.
BNN discovered the drugs case following a tip-off from the local community. Joint team of BNN, West Kalimantan Provincial Narcotic Agency and West Kalimantan Custom officers searched Entikong area to follow up the information.
Depari revealed that the illicit drugs were smuggled from Kuching, Malaysia through unofficial border post in Entikong, West Kalimantan Province. "On Sunday at around 11.00 West Indonesia Standart Time, we found Gunawan was in a convoy along with Budi who took a motorbike ride with Yusuf," he explained.
The team raided them, but Gunawan managed to escape. Gunawan carried the drugs with him. He was finally caught in a house near Beliung river, West Pontianak, West Kalimantan Province.
