REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- United Development Party (PPP) chairman M. Romahurmuziy "Romi" did not meet Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summon on Monday (August 20). He was scheduled to be examined on bribery case of the proposed regional balance funds in the 2018 Draft State Budget (RAPBN-P) to complete the file of suspect Yaya Purnomo.
“His (Romahurmuziy) staff came to KPK and said that he can’t attend KPK summon,” said KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah on Monday (August 20).
Febri said KPK investigators expected Romi to attend the summon on Thursday (August 23). KPK needed to confirm some informations obtained by investigators from other PPP officials.
Meanwhile, PPP deputy secretary general Achmad Baidowi said Romahurmuziy had to visit Central Java and Yogyakarta for Eid al-Adha celebration.
“He has given a letter that said he was unable to attend KPK summon,” said Achmad.
Achmad also said Romi respected KPK summon. However, he admitted that Romi did not understand about the bribery case of the proposed regional balance funds for 2018 fiscal year.
“So far, he understands KPK’s duties in law enforcement, but on the other hand he doesn’t understand his post related to suspect YP,” Achmad explained.
Achmad said Romi was summoned by KPK as witness related to the confiscation of money of around Rp1.4 billion from PPP general treasures Puji Suhartono’s house. KPK has also examined Puji as a witness in the case.
