Jokowi meets Catholic Bishop Conference

Jokowi has a friendly meeting with Catholic Bishop Conference.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo held a friendly meeting with the Indonesian Church Bishop Conference (KWI) in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta on Friday morning. Jokowi, who wore a black-and-white-colored long-sleeved batik shirt, arrived at the KWI office in Cut Meutia Street in Jakarta around 8:50 a.m local time.

During the visit to the KWI Office, State Secretary Pratikno and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung accompanied the president. The President was welcomed by the KWI officials and immediately entered the office located near the Cut Meutia Mosque.

In addition to staying in touch with KWI, President Jokowi is also scheduled to conduct a meeting with the Communion of the Indonesian Churches (PGI). The head of state is also scheduled to meet with the Central Board leaders of the Communion of the Indonesian (Protestant) Churches (PGI) on the same day.

Previously, Jokowi also meet with Muhammadiyah officials on Thursday (August 23). Jokowi said he discussed various matters, especially economic issues, welfare, and health issues in his meeting with Muhammadiyah general chairman, Haedar Nasir and a number of other officials of the Islamic mass organization.

“I and Muhammadiyah chairman talked about a lot of things, especially related to fair economy, health, and also implementation of Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan), including women's and children's health,” Jokowi said.

They also discussed about redistribution of assets and Islamic bank.
