REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA -- Vice presidential candidate Sandiaga Uno commented on the ‘bromance’ moment between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Gerindra Party chief patron and Chairman of Indonesia Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) Prabowo Subianto happened on Wednesday (August 29). He got goosebumps when seeing the video and photos, as both of those figures actually will compete in 2019 presidential election.

“I want Indonesia to be peaceful and I feel goosebumps yesterday because it's what I want, we are all brothers,” said Sandiaga who paired with Prabowo in 2019 presidential election on Thursday (August 30).

Sandiaga said the Jokowi and Prabowo bromance must always be highlighted. He assessed it showed unity, despite having different choices, but there is still one goal, to advance Indonesia.

“All Indonesian people really miss the moment, we want politics to be calm and peaceful,” Sandiaga added.

Jokowi was seen very intimate with Prabowo, who is his rival in 2019 presidential election on pencak silat (martial arts) final at Padepokan Pencak Silat in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, East Jakarta. They were embraced by an Indonesian martial art fighter Hanifan Yudani Kusuma who won gold medal.

“I don’t know. Suddenly I was hugged and it smells. It smells good because Indonesia wins,” Jokowi said.

Meanwhile, Prabowo felt proud with the presence of Jokowi, Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK), and Indonesian 5th president Megawati Soekarnoputri  He stated that they came to offer the best for the nation and unite for Indonesia without thinking of differences.

"Imagine, everyone is here at a critical time," Prabowo said.
