REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Palestine through Palestinian International Cooperation Agency (PICA) provided assistance to victims of earthquake and tsunami in Palu and Donggala, Central Sulawesi. The donation also is a form of gratitude from Palestinian people for all things that been given by Indonesia.
“Palestine received a call from Indonesia over earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi. Government and Palestinian people mourn to the disaster that hit Palu and surrounding areas. May all the victims of earthquake and tsunami get healed and have the strength," said Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Zuhair Saleh Muhammad Al-Shun in a press conference in Jakarta, on Thursday (Oct 11).

Meanwhile, PICA director general Imad Al Zuhairi said Palestinian people are concerned of the disaster that happened in Palu and its surroundings. The form of assistance provided by Palestine is in the form of sarongs, mineral water, tarps, tents, blankets, needs for women and babies, generators, and water storage.
“As the instruction of Palestine President, PICA directly provides assistance to Indonesia at the Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta," Imad said.
An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter Scale, which was updated by Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to 7.4 on the Richter Scale, shook the Palu and Donggala regions last Friday (Sept 28) evening. The epicenter of the earthquake at a depth of 10 kilometers was located 27 kilometers east of the Donggala Sea.
BNPB reported death toll from earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi was reported risen to 2,045, which consisting 1,636 people from Palu, 171 people from Donggala, Sigi 222 people, Parigi Moutong 15 people. There is also one people from Pasangkayu, West Sulawesi.
