REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) secretary general Mustafa Kamal denied presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto was lazy to campaign around the regions in Indonesia. According to him, Prabowo campaigned in a number of strategic places first.
Mustafa said Prabowo’s running mate, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno was the one who had to perform early socialization. Moreover, it was not the first time for Prabowo to be presidential candidate.
“Mr Prabowo runs in presidential election for more than one time,” said Mustafa on Sunday (Oct 14).
Mustafa said Prabowo focused on paving the way to communicate more intensively with the grassroots. Therefore, he visited strategic regions first, among others highly dense areas.
"By doing so, he will have support from the grassroots," Mustafa added.
Earlier, Democratic Party politician Andi Arief criticized Prabowo through his Twitter account. He said Prabowo's campaign in various regions was not intense.
“In Presidential election, we choose president, so if Mr Prabowo doesn’t want to go around Indonesia actively, there’s no magic formula to win,” Andi said.
