REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUPANG -- The West Manggarai District Government, East Nusa Tenggara, is ready to welcome the arrival of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)-World Bank delegation on holiday in Labuan Bajo after an annual meeting in Bali. Hans Rumat, deputy chairperson of the Organization, Indonesian Tourism Travel Companies Association (Asita), said the government's preparations were quite mature.

"We have seen firsthand the extent to which preparations were made to welcome the arrival of the IMF and World Bank delegates to travel to Labuan Bajo," Rumat stated on Monday.

Rumat noted that preparations made by the government in the west end of Flores island were quite mature, starting from preparations at the Komodo airport, transportation and lodging services, and sea transportation fleets ready to welcome the visit of the IMF delegation to the area.

"The government is fully ready to welcome the visit of the IMF-World Bank delegation that is on a holiday to Labuan Bajo," Rumat noted.

Rumat also added that several international hotels were ready to welcome the visit of the country's guests. "There are some four international-standard hotels in Labuan Bajo that are ready to receive guests from this country," he noted.

According to Rumat, careful preparations were a testament to the fact that the West Manggarai government will make tourism a leading local sector. "We believe tourism will grow rapidly, as the government is serious about structuring the tourism sector, so we believe the tourism sector will develop rapidly in the area," Rumat added.
