REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BENGKULU -- Law and Human Rights Minister Yassona Laoly, during a visit to the city of Bengkulu on Monday, sought for tightening supervision of foreigners in the region. Laoly was in Bengkulu in order to confirm the foreign supervision team (Tim Pora) at the sub-district level in Bengkulu Tengah Regency and Bengkulu City.

"The Pora team will be tasked with overseeing the movements of foreigners who come here. If immigration violations are found, strict action can be taken against them," he noted.

He remarked that the team was formed in line with the implementation of Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No. 50 of 2016 on the Overseas Supervision Team to realize a coordinated and comprehensive immigration towards immigrant existence and activities. To maximize performance, members of Tim Pora comprised sub-district heads, village heads, police officers, and military officers to KUA.

"I demand supervision to be conducted professionally to minimize the illegal entry of foreign nationals into the Indonesian jurisdiction, especially Bengkulu," he noted.
