REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Vice presidential candidate of presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto, Sandiaga Uno was trying to campaign through social medias. He started to use broadcast feature on his Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Sandiaga also answered a number of questions from his followers. He said millennials have been waiting for the kind of campaign.
On the other hand, he assessed campaigning through social media also economical.
“In the future, our campaign will not be in a form commonly seen by electorals and community that gathers the masses at one point. So, we have to make sure our campaign is economical, with strategic content, and can be understood by our target audience,” Sandiaga said on Thursday (Oct 18).
In the live broadcast through social medias, Sandiaga was accompanied by Gerindra Party politician Radit Pratama and Golkar Party politician Sekar Krisnauli Tanjung.

In the session, Sandiaga answered a number of questions from social media users that were read by Radit and Sekar. The questions mostly related to Prabowo and also vision and mission in the economic field.
Sandiaga admitted campaign through social media was his strategy to counter the high costs. Moreover, according to him, the businessmen are more in favor of incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Ma'ruf Amin pair.
He said many entrepreneurs supported his side. However, they did it in secrecy.
“We see how entrepreneurs, who have sympathy for us, but they don't dare to support us openly,” Sandiaga said.
Sandiaga asserted his team should not be whiny and complaint about the condition. In fact, he said that the situation was a challenge that they had to overcome to fight the rival.
