Crew members and passengers receive life insurance: JK

Jasa Raharja ensures all victims of Lion Air JT 610 will receive insurance coverage.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla said all crew members in the commercial Lion Air JT 610 with Jakarta-Pangkalpinang route had received life insurance. He asserted that all planes could fly only if insured.

"They can only fly if insured, both the plane as well as the passengers," Kalla stated at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

Meanwhile, state-owned insurance company PT Jasa Raharja (Persero) ensured that all victims of the Lion Air JT-610 plane in the Jakarta-Pangkalpinang route that crashed in Tanjung Karawang waters will receive insurance coverage. Jasa Raharja President Director Budi Rahardjo S remarked that in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.

According to Rahardjo, based on Law No. 33 and PMK No. 15 of 2017, Jasa Raharja is ready to hand over compensation rights of Rp50 million for the victims. For injured victims, Jasa Raharja will also guarantee the cost of hospital care with a maximum maintenance fee of Rp25 million.

Jasa Rahaja has received a report and immediately coordinated with the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Directorate General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, and Lion Air. Furthermore, Jasa Raharja was present directly at the Dipati Amir Pangkalpinang Airport Crisis Center, Lion Air Terminal 1 Office, Soekarno-Hatta Airport, and Jakarta Basarda Office to ensure the safety of the passengers.

The Lion Air JT 610 plane in the Jakarta-Pangkalpinang route crashed in Tanjung Kerawang waters due to problems when flying. The aircraft tried to return to Jakarta but failed.

The B737-8-type Max aircraft, with Flight Number JT 610, was flying from Soekarno Hatta International Airport to Depati Amir Airport in Pangkalpinang. The aircraft, with PK-LQP registration number, was reported last caught on radar at coordinates 05 46.15 S - 107 07.16 E.

The aircraft departed at 06.10 WIB and was scheduled to arrive at Pangkalpinang at 07:20 WIB.

Jika tidaklah karena suatu ketetapan yang telah ada dahulunya dari Tuhanmu (untuk menangguhkan azab) sampai batas waktu yang ditentukan, pastilah hukuman bagi mereka telah dilaksanakan. Dan sesungguhnya orang-orang yang mewarisi Kitab (Taurat dan Injil) setelah mereka (pada zaman Muhammad), benar-benar berada dalam keraguan yang mendalam tentang Kitab (Al-Qur'an) itu.
