REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of the Indonesian National Police Hospital Police Brigadier General Musyafak stated that an Italian national was identified as one of the victims in the Lion Air JT 610 crash. An Italian male, known as Andrea Manfredi, was identified through a DNA examination process.

The results of Manfredi's examination were conducted by matching the DNA data given by the family through the Italian Embassy. The results of the identification had been submitted to the family through the Bureau of International Relations of the National Police Headquarters.

It was also forwarded to the Italian Embassy, he noted. However, the Police Hospital is yet to be informed as to when Lion Air will transfer Manfredi's remains back to his family in Italy.

Besides Manfredi, there were two other victims identified, as revealed in the reconciliation session on Tuesday, including 52-year-old male victim named Adonia Magdiel Bongkal, and 19-year-old female Alfiyani Hidayatul Solikah. Both of the deceased's identities were found after DNA examinations.

Thus, the total number of passengers identified has reached 85, consisting of 64 men and 21 women passengers, which means until the 16th day of search and rescue efforts for the aircraft in Tanjung Pakis, Karawang, on October 29, there are still 104 passengers to be identified.

The DVI team, according to Musyafak, is still focused on waiting for the results of 666 DNA samples from 195 bodies.
