REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) asked presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto to mention deliberately names of elites who got threat because of supporting him. According to JK, elite has a wide meaning, namely government elites and business elites.

JK said there are many types of government eleites. However, they can not participate in campaign and give support, while business elites can freely to give support to anyone.

“When it comes to elites, there are many types, such as government elites like state civil apparatus (ASN), they can’t participate in campaign, they can’t give support to any candidate because it’s forbidden,” said JK on Friday (Nov 23).

JK stressed Prabowo should mentioned the elites' name. Thus, government can seek the truth of his statement.

“If only mention ‘elites’, it will be difficult for government to find out, if the elites are mentioned, we will take action to correct if it’s true,” JK added.

Earlier, Prabowo said there are a number of elites who want to support him in 2019 presidential election. However, they do not dare to express it openly due to the threat.

Prabowo did not reveal who are the elites. The Gerindra Party chief patron admitted could not do much with this phenomenon and he said still grateful there are many volunteers who support him without fear or being threatened.
