REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — National Winning Agency (BPN) or Prabowo Subianto - Sandiaga Uno pair success team spokesman Suhud Alynudin asserted the importance of a meeting between presidential candidates camps. He said through the meeting, people would get the message that political elites could establish good communication amid the contestation.

“The meeting between political elites will ease tensions and prevent conflict,” said Suhud on Thursday (Nov 29).

Suhut added the most important thing for BPN is keep on inviting the public to focus on ideas and programs of campaign instead of contra productive comments.

In addition, BPN expected General Election Commission (KPU) and Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) to facilitate the meeting between two presidential candidates camps. Suhud stressed both of the institutions are the organizers of the election.

Earlier, National Campaign Team (TKN) or success team of incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) - KH Ma’ruf Amin pair spokesman, Ahmad Basarah said the camp wanted to open room for dialogue with BPN. The aim was to make 2019 presidential election run peacefully.

Ahmad said the meeting between the two success teams is expected to make campaign period for the next five months to not cause disunity in the nation. He stressed TKN is ready to have dialogue with BPN, in order to find solution in the middle of chaos due to this political contestation.

“TKN is always open to dialogue, to find the best way,” Ahmad said.
