REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA —  National Campaign Team (TKN) or success team of incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) - KH Ma’ruf Amin targeted to recruit 10 thousand lawyers to escort the pair during 2019 presidential election. The figure indicated seriousness of lawyers in supporting the government camp's candidate.

“Our target is to recruit 10 thousand lawyers throughout Indonesia,” said Jokowi - Ma’ruf director of law and advocacy, Ade Irfan Pulungan on Friday (Nov 30).

Ade said the plan to recruit 10 thousand advocates showed that the Legal and Advocacy Directorate of TKN serious in escorting Jokowi - Ma’ruf pair. He said TKN is grateful for the support given by hundreds of advocates who are members of Advokat Indonesia Maju (AIM) to Jokowi - Ma'ruf.

According to Ade, all legal assistance efforts carried out by the Directorate of Law and Advocacy of TKN aimed to increase the electability of Jokowi-Ma'ruf by combating to hoax (fake news) and slanders. He said many legal issues happened to Jokowi - Ma’ruf.

“Legal issues such as slander, hate speech, and hoax often happened to Jokowi and Ma'ruf. I got the assignment from TKN leaders to improve the electoral,” Ade added.

Based on data, Ade said there are nine million people who believe with the issues related to Jokowi. He stressed his duty is to clarify about the real condition. However, he asked lawyers who support Jokowi to not report things that are far from the legal substance. 

“Don’t be like the other who file reports with weak substance of the legal issue," Ade said.
