REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,  JAKARTA — National  campaign team Indonesia Work Coalition (TKN KIK) or incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) - KH Ma’ruf Amin success team commented on the provocative banner that said ‘Jokowi Antek PKI’ or Jokowi is Indonesia Communist Party (PKI) minion. The team considered the banner has harassed, insulted, and reduced the authority of a state leader.

“It is not allowed in our Constitution, this country has presidential (system) and whoever the head of state is must be respected by the citizens,” said TKN KIK deputy chairman, Abdul Kadir Karding on Wednesday (Dec 5).

Karding has asked authorities to remove the banner found in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. In addition, he also requested police to act quickly and proactively to investigate the perpetrators of the provocative banner.

Karding also asked Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) to take the necessary steps in accordance with the regulations. He asserted, this kind of incident could not be ignored, so it would not happen again.

The banner included a picture of Prabowo Subianto - Sandiaga Uno pair and logos of their supporting political parties. On the right side of the banner some hashtags were seen, one of those is 'Jokowi with PKI'.

According to Bawaslu DKI Jakarta, an investigation related to the banner will be conducted. The banners installed in Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta have been removed.

“We have removed the banner on Tuesday,” said Bawaslu DKI Jakarta member, Puadi.
