REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinator of spokesperson of the National Winning Agency (BPN) for Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, regretted the General Election Commission (KPU)'s decision for canceling the presentation of presidential candidates' vision and mission which was scheduled on Wednesday (Jan 9).

Dahnil said the cancellation of the presentation of presidential candidates' vision and mission was a proof of declining quality of democracy in Indonesia.

"This cancellation is a loss not only to our side, but it is detrimental to our democracy quality," said Dahnil in a discussion of Pojok Jubir BPN Prabowo-Sandiaga, at BPN Media Center, Jakarta, on Monday (Jan 7).

In fact, Dahnil explained, BPN wanted to create a competition that not only sought victory, but also aimed to educate the public. Dahnil said without knowing the presidential candidates vision and mission, the public would not be able to obtain information needed to decide their votes on April 17, 2019 later.

Conveying visions and missions to the public also to answer public criticism that during campaign time Prabowo-Sandiaga was only looking for sensations and gimmicks, without any substantive issues being raised. Dahnil confirmed that the presidential candidates number 02 are very ready to deliver the vision and mission to answer the accusations that have been addressed to the pair.

"What we have in mind was that there will be a forum with panelists from universities which have competency and fairness for arguing, criticizing about Prabowo and Sandi vision and missions for two hours," he said.
