REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- One of chairpersons of Indonesian Council of Ulema (MUI), KH Muhyiddin Junaidi denied the rumor that said ustaz Arifin Ilham has passed away. In fact, he has visited ustaz Arifin at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Kiai Muhyiddin said he was with Deputy Speaker of the House, Fadli Zon when visiting ustaz Arifin. He called on Muslims throughout the country to pray for ustaz Arifin's health.
"It's not true that he has passed away," Kiai Muhyiddin said.
According to Kiai Muhyiddin, the doctors asked the famous cleric not to have too many visitors. The doctors also told ustaz Arifin to not talking too much, he said.
"But, he is getting better," Kiai Muhyiddin said.
Kiai Muhyiddin explained that ustaz Arifin suffered from stage 4A nasopharyngeal and lymph cancer. However, he believes that ustaz Arifin can fight the disease and can continue his da'wah activities again.
